Thrift Sale to Feature Over 40 Sales
Wow. This year’s neighborhood-wide thrift sale (Saturday, May 22) has over 40 sales – and counting. This is huge. We don’t have a historian to research such things, but if we did, we assume she or he would proclaim, “Wowza! This is one of the largest sales days to date, perhaps the largest! And I should know because I’m the neighborhood historian!”
You can see a great map of all the sales (and get your own sale listed) on the thrift sale page (http://eastsidehill.com/sale). The majority of the sales have item descriptions, and a lot of them feature pretty interesting items. At least one will have a local artist making art, and there’s rumor of live music at another. To get your sale listed on the map to be printed and distributed on the day of the sale, please sign up by Tuesday, May 18.
Semi-Annual Meeting Recap
The Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association held its Semi-Annual meeting on Thursday, April 29th at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. More than 50 people attended, making this one of the largest meetings in recent memory. Guest speakers included ECASD Superintendent Dr. Ron Heilmann, Eau Claire Police Officer Mike Major, and Eau Claire Public Works Department Director Brian Amundson. In addition, webmaster Mike Paulus gave a presentation on the new website. A myriad of important issues that concern our neighborhood were discussed, and Eastside Hill citizens had the opportunity to ask questions and offer input. Overall, it was a very productive meeting that demonstrated the passion of our wonderful neighborhood! The meeting minutes are posted here (http://eastsidehill.com/archives/1334).
