The Leader-Telegram has a quick recap of last night’s workshop at Regis High School on the Hastings Way reconstruction project. If you were there, leave a comment with your thoughts! From the L-T …

Ann Schell, who lives near Hastings Way, said she was most concerned about the corridor forming a commercial strip in the middle of a residential area.

“I think it’s important to make it a part of the neighborhood rather than a barrier, so there’s more pedestrian activity,” Schell said.

… Brian Amundson, city public works director, said the results of Wednesday’s meeting will be combined with about 150 comments from a May 27 public meeting to create a design that is in line with community input.

“(The purpose was to) try to see the project through the eyes of the folks that are here tonight,” he said. “These are the folks that are out there day in and day out.”

A big thanks to everyone who attended!
