Winter After Hours in Boyd Park starts tonight!

The Winter After Hours series begins tonight, starting at 6PM—a ton of cool winter action for adults and kids alike in Eau Claire’s festively-lit Boyd Park. Enjoy ice skating, snowshoeing (skates/shoes available for rent), snow sculptures, winter kubb (that awesome Nordic lawn game, winter style), a giant firepit, hot drinks, music and lots of fun. Take winter back, and enjoy it after hours. Event produced by Volume One Magazine, in partnership with the City of Eau Claire. Full schedule here.

Owl family resides on Eastside Hill

East Hiller Aaron Ellringer wrote up a great account of his encounter with some Great Horned Owls living in the area … “Almost everyday we’d sit there, just watching the owls watch us. If a dog walker came by, we’d look another direction, taking care to not reveal the purpose of our rest. I changed my route to and from work to include a pass by the owls.” Read more.

Next Steering Committee Meeting: Jan. 20

As always, Eastside Hill residents and interested parties are welcome to attend all steering committee meetings. This meeting may feature the formation of some subcommittees, and hopefully the election of a new president. Public comments will be welcomed near the beginning of the meeting.

Thursday, Jan. 20 – 6:45pm

We need stories!

The Eastside Hill Newsletter started in the mid-nineties and has since maintained a great tradition of terrific articles written by individuals who love living here. Let’s keep that going! If you’ve got something to say – some news, a memory, a great idea, historical research, opinions, anything – send it our way! Submit stories here.
