February 22 Newsletter
Monthly Meeting Summary
Your steering committee had a good monthly meeting last Thursday. Only one member absent. During public comments, we heard a proposal to support a fence running along the top of the river bank in Boyd Park. The committee voted against support. We also discussed our (non) non-profit status, ways to generate website articles, and more. Let us know if you have any issues for next month’s meeting!
You People Are Great
Hey! It’s been great to see so many people helping each other out with the snow – shoveling, plowing, pushing stuck cars. Keep taking care of each other, Eastside Hill! Share the back pain! =)
We’re on Facebook (Again)
Hey, in case you didn’t notice, the neighborhood started a Facebook page. This is actually our second Facebook page (long story), but anyways – check it out here. Talk, connect, post photos, all that good stuff …

The jump looked directly at the heart of the city’s Eastside and jumpers would finish their runs near the junction of Summer Street and Huebsch Boulevard. “It was really scary,” said Hilltoppers president and top jumper, Tom Hagen. “When you stood at the top of the slide and looked behind, you were looking straight into the Third Ward.” Read more!
We Need Events!
If there’s anything you’d like to see in our website’s event calendar, just let us know! Right now, you’ll find info on the very last “Winter After Hours” event of the year down in Boyd Park. Volume One Magazine’s done a phenomenal job with these wintry evenings – thanks so much!
And We need stories!
The Eastside Hill Newsletter started in the mid-nineties and has since maintained a great tradition of terrific articles written by individuals who love living here. Let’s keep that going! If you’ve got something to say – some news, a memory, a great idea, historical research, opinions, anything – send it our way! Submit stories here.
