Need help in your home, or want to help a neighbor?

Chippewa Valley Time Bank is a computer assisted bartering system for exchanging your volunteer time, hour for hour, with another member who responds to a need you posted. The annual fee for this service is $10 for an individual.

The Time Bank is coming to our September 19th semi-annual meeting. They will be available at 6 PM, a half hour before our meeting starts to answer questions or sign up Time Bank members. The Neighborhood Association will discuss joining the Time Bank at our meeting.

Community Organizing Skills Training Available to Eastside Hill

by Mark Ruddy

Here’s another chance to join others and learn to make our neighborhood a better place to live.

Since 2007 Eau Claire’s Clear Vision organization has offered annual trainings in the effective skills for public engagement. This continues with Clear Vision’s 2013 Empowerment Summit, a powerful training in community organizing skills such as defining an issue, identifying the stakeholders, networking, pinpointing an action – used to change our community for the better.

The upcoming sequence will be six training sessions, starting 9/12/13, ending 12/12/13. This is free training and proven to be effective.

This year Clear Vision is making a special effort to have existing community organizations form a team to come to the trainings together and use the sessions to fine tune an opportunity or issue to work on.

I would like to join a group of Eastside Hill neighbors to form such a team and define a project to work on that is related to our neighborhood. I have taken the training twice and look forward to refreshing  my skills. Contact me with questions or your interest: Mark Ruddy, 839-7949; markruddy55@yahoo.com.
