April 16 Semi-Annual Meeting Minutes

6:00 – 6:45 PM – Neighborhood Expo

Guests from The Eau Claire Police Department introduced themselves and spoke to the group.  Lt. Ryan Dahlgren, South District Commander; Sgt. Travis Quella, South District Aft. Shift; Officer Renee Stoik, 7 PM to 3 AM shift.

Dave Solberg, EC City Engineer chatted with the group.  He mentioned that the City is waiting for a second easement to do further work on the Valmont bike Boulevard.  He noted that there are ongoing conversations about the possible closure of the intersection of Lee St. and Jefferson with Brackett Ave.

Dave also spoke about upcoming street projects that will affect the neighborhood.  There will be work on

Main St from Summer St. to Farwell
Emery St. will see improvement
The cemetery retaining wall will is on the project list

Additionally, Dave said that BPAC and Visit Eau Claire will be having a signage contest for bike routes.

Notes –

• Garden Stand is coming soon
• No update on the street painting at this time.
• Upcoming Boyd Park Seminars may include beekeeping and composting
• Amazing EC Clean Up is April 25th.  Volunteers can met at Boyd Park
• The neighborhood thrift sale is set for Saturday, May 16th
• Mega East Bike & Brat ties into Bike Week and is set for June 13th Watch the Mega Facebook page for details
• Kathy Mitchell urged us to keep an eye on her Facebook page regarding the updates to the City Comprehensive Plan (William is our rep to this committee).
• An Eagle Scout project is slated for the stairs off Dewey St. (Forest St. Tral)
• Stephanie Regenauer from the County Board reports that the process is begun for hiring a new City Administrator.
