The Eastside Hill + Chippewa Valley Time Bank

The Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association (EHNA) is focused on building our quality of life in this part of Eau Claire we call home.  From this perspective we are sponsoring an event that encourages our neighbors to join the Chippewa Valley Time Bank because we have similar goals.

The Time Bank is a modern way to trade your time, talents, interests, gifts with others who need what you have to offer. In exchange you earn an equal amount of time to get your needs met.  Folks and skills are easily matched up via the Time Bank’s computer system. For example, you may give a ride to a neighbor to get groceries and earn someone else’s time to fix your front steps.

These “time dollar” exchanges foster community, caring, and basic neighborliness. An added bonus is knowing your community better and often building relationships.

Here’s the event we ask you to come to:  A Celebration of Old Time Values.  Thursday November 12th at St  John’s Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Avenue. Bring the kids! Going from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM; Come hear the “down home” sounds of the Sliced Bread Jug Band between 7 and 8 PM. (Feel free to dance!) Get more information so you can consider signing up to be a member of the Time Bank. Enter the lower level event site via the church’s parking lot that is northwest of the church.

The Time Bank works for individuals, organizations and businesses. There is a small annual fee to be a member. To get more information about the Chippewa Valley Time Bank go to www.chippewavalleytimebank.org.

If you want more information or have questions, contact EHNA’s president  Mark Ruddy at 839-7949, or markruddy55@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your consideration!
