City Council Race
Kate Beaton talked about her experience and why she is running for City Council.
- UWEC graduate in social work and minor in env. science
-helped develop the Market Match food program at the Farmer’s Market
-as a Americorp Vista worker she works with food insecurity issues
-part of the comprehensive plan work group
-working with NOW NW Wisconsin to increase the living wage in this area
-interested in sustainability issues
-wants to make Eau Claire a more just sustainable city

Treasurer’s Report
$395.29 starting balance. $70 for PO Box renewal; $325.29 remaining with $93.47 in petty cash, for a total of $418.76.

Old Business: Boyd Park Locks Update
-matching funds grant by City approved
-Have $1025 raised
-Flynn extended “pennies for potty” drive; expect about $800 from that fundraiser
-$150 raised through coupon books
-Action City fundraisr night planned for Tuesday the 23rd
-Kwik Trip a possibility

Margaret Street
-166 responses to survey monkey; overwhelming support for safer street.
-no official process with City
-news clips from both TV Stations
-Eric and Jason have a meeting with Leah Ness next week
-Jeremy Gregert will bring issue before the Bicycle/Ped Commission, because this is a community issue
-if we want Margaret to be a bikeway, need to bring issue to the bike/ped commission soon.

-Would like to order more signs; would also like to order meeting signs

-City looking into how to revitalize neighborhoods
-speakers from other cities give examples as to what they have done in St. Paul, LaCrosse and Milwaukee
-looking at in-fill
-new codes for rental inspections

By-Laws
-went over some more changes in by-laws; Mark will write up the changes and for the final by-laws revision and then ESHNA members will vote via email
ESHNA need to respond to email from Mark approving or not approving the by-laws
