Boyd Park Bathroom Project Reaches Funding Goal!
The Eastside hill neighborhood association is excited to announce the completion of fundraising for the Boyd park bathrooms. The project includes adding doors to the outside of the bathrooms and making both bathrooms unisex, allowing one to be open to the park users and the other reserved for people renting out the pavilion. Also included in the project are security upgrades including cameras to prevent vandalism at the shelter which has been an issue recently. An added bonus due to the need of an Internet feed for the security cameras is that there will be free public wifi in the park. Also a water bottle filling station will be added to the outside of the building which is great news for all the trail users who have made the stretch along the river by the park the highest used portion of the city’s trail system.
A construction timeline is still in the works but the project should be completed by this fall most likely at the latest. The neighborhood association would like to thank Chad and Michelle Rowekamp for donating $1000 and his employer Pepsi for a matching donation of $1000. Team Tiry donated $500. Boxx Sanitation donated $500. And Flynn Elementary students’ pennies for potties campaign added $300, Mary Schneider added $200, Barb and Mylon Stark $100, and Jane Fisher of Coldwell Banker $100. Thanks to these generous people and all the others who have helped contribute to this great project.
This is a great example of what we can accomplish working together with the city and as a neighborhood!
