Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association Annual Accomplishments 2017

MARGARET STREET SAFETY PROGRESS

  • Reduced speed to 25 mph.
  • Refurbished 12 Perennial Gardens and got 28 trees planted by Forestry along Margaret.

humanKIND’s FIRST YEAR  (Committee for diversity, inclusiveness, tolerance, welcoming).

  • International Folk Dancing and Pot Luck.
  • Caroling.
  • WELCOME! Yard Signs.
  • Promoting Circles of Change groups that will raise awareness about racial issues.
  • Planning a Hmong Fiber Arts Exhibit with Tangled Up In Hue.

GARDENING

  • Resurrected a garden site at Boyd Park.

MET OTHER PLACES FOR OUR MEETINGS

  • e.g., St. John’s Apartments, Temple Sholom, Forest Hill Cemetery Chapel.

HOT CHOCOLATE SERVED at Volume One’s winter events at Boyd Park.

VOLUNTEER USE EXPANDED

  • Master Gardeners on Earth Day/City wide Clean UP Day.
  • 10 Hours of St. John’s Lutheran Church’s Summer Stretch crews of 8 workers = 80 hours.
  • 3-hour long Day of Service by Xcel Energy’s 16- person crew cleaning up the Prairie = 48 hours.
  • Set up Friends of EHNA to get help from Neighbors to keep Steering Committee from “burning out”.

CITY POLICE AT OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS

  • Thrift Sale, Picnic, more Prairie…
