Halloween Fun!

In addition to normal neighborhood Trick-or-Treating this year on Tuesday, October 31 (Eau Claire residential hours: 5-7:30pm) – be careful when driving! – Spirit Lutheran (1310 Main Street) is hosting a “Trunk Or Treat” event on Sunday, October 29,  1pm–2pm. Details.

One Position Is Open on Our 12 Person Steering Committee!

We meet monthly for 1.5 hours; have been meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM. If you have any questions call Mark Ruddy at 839-7949. Enjoin us!

Neighborhood Crime Rate and Restorative Justice

At the October 19th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association there were two salient discussions. First, Lieutenant Ryan Dahlgren of EC police who has been in charge of our area for the past three years stated that he has not seen an increase in crime rates in our area this summer. Because of a change last year to conform to new federal standards, no direct comparison can be made from year to year that would give a statistical account of any rate changes. Vandalism in Boyd Park

Monday, October 2nd Parks Department staff found vandalism in the 24/7 open restroom in the Park’s Shelter. Items were torn off the wall and/or taken, causing about $150 of damage. The surveillance footage may be helpful to find the offender.

On the “Archery Trail” that goes from the Boyd Park Prairie to South Hastings Way there has been other suspected mischief.
