Time To Give Input on Harding Avenue Makeover

by EHNA Steering Committee President Mark Ruddy

Leah Ness from the city’s engineering department will be at our December 14th Steering Committee meeting to solicit input from Neighbors about the Harding Avenue project that is scheduled for next year’s construction season. In January a proposal will be submitted by the engineers and they will then seek to gain support from Neighborhoods before the plan goes to the City Council.

Normally our Committee meetings are on the 3rd Thursday of the month; it was moved to the 2nd Thursday this time to be less affected by the up-coming holidays.

The current plan is to only resurface Harding Avenue and not change the curbs and sidewalk. They are weighing safety issues for bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists, the effects of closing off Lee and/or Jefferson Street, a bottleneck at the intersection by Just Local Food, etc.

Give your input at our meeting on the 14th or contact the City Engineers office.
