Four senior students in their spring semester Community Leadership Class, MGMT 494, will research and suggest improvements to our Boyd Park. This marketing class is taught by Professor of Management Scott Lester who selected our concept to support; one of 18. The Neighborhood Association was alerted to this resource and aided by our local Blue Bird Project (thanks Shelley!).

The team of students will start work February 2nd and will complete it on their “presentation” day of April 27. This project is especially welcomed now as we look for ways to fit a skateboard park into the present list of functions our park offers.

The Parks Department objected to our use of the term “master plan” to describe our focus on Boyd Park because that term connotes a specific procedure that the Parks Department uses; that route would be a 5-year wait. To make our Neighborhood Association’s approach separate, we will call our process “Boyd Park Plus”. We welcome the Park’s Department assistance.

Tell us if you have ideas for improving the park and/or want to assist in this process. Call 839-7949 for the students’ contact information and ways to be involved.
