HUGE BOYD PARK PLUS UPDATE!

The Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association Steering Committee has exciting news to share on Boyd Park Plus fundraising. On August 11, we added a number of offline donations (cash, checks, etc.) we’ve received over the summer from neighbors as well as area businesses and organizations. (We’ll be recognizing these individuals and entities soon.) These include some large donations from local companies made through matching programs, as well as money from generous neighbors. We’ve also added in money the City of Eau Claire is holding for the neighborhood – funds leftover from the recent Boyd Park bathroom improvement project. The end result? We’ve surpassed our $10,000 “phase one” funding goal!

Thank you to the wonderful individuals, families, and Eau Claire businesses who made this possible.

SO WHAT NOW? PUBLIC INPUT ON AUG. 18

A few weeks ago, once we realized the funding goal was met, we spoke with Eau Claire design firm Ayres Associates, and they have agreed to move forward on their conceptual plan for the Boyd Park redesign. (The lead designer is even an Eastside Hill neighbor!) This is what we’ve been raising money for – a complete conceptual design will allow us a far greater chance in securing funding for “phase two,” the actual construction of the new park. And it all starts on Sunday, August 18 at our Annual Eastside Hill Picnic & Boyd Park Input Session!

PLEASE join us in the Boyd Park pavilion on Sunday between 11am and 1pm for the annual picnic. In addition to the free lunch and some special festivities in honor of reaching out fundraising goal, you’ll have a chance to add some thoughts on the park’s redesign. Ayres Associates will have a few preliminary ideas on hand to get your imagination rolling, and you’ll be able to indicate what you like, don’t like, and what you think might be missing. Find the event on Facebook.

SPREAD THE WORD! Please share this message with your friends and family in the neighborhood however you can. We’re so excited for the future of Boyd Park! Learn more about the project: BoydParkPlus.com
