March 5: Boyd Park Redesign Input Session #3
PLEASE SHARE! The Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association Steering Committee will host the third input session for the Boyd Park redesign on March 5th at 6:30pm at Spirit Lutheran (1310 Main St.). Please come! We’re in the final stages of the conceptual design process and need your input before taking the plans to the city …
At the meeting, two plans will be presented and discussed. It’s important to know these are not the final plans, and we will not simply pick one or the other. Both plans include different presentations of the concepts, amenities, and arrangements suggested by our prior input sessions (with help from the EHNA Steering Committee and input from the City of Eau Claire’s parks and planning departments).
The March 5th input session will give us all a chance to consider all of the various options and indicate what we like, don’t like, and see as missing. That input will be used to craft a final plan, to be presented to Eau Claire’s Parks and Waterways Commission later in March.
The plans are posted below (click on them for a closer look). If you plan on attending the Input Session, please take some time to look them over prior to the meeting. The park’s designer from Ayres Associates will lead our discussion.
ADDITIONAL INFO: As required by the City of Eau Claire, a fourth and final input session – this one citywide – will be held at Eau Claire’s City Hall on March 12 (7-8:30pm).
If the plan is approved by the Parks and Waterways Commission, we will more forward. If not, we will need to make changes and resubmit. Once a final plan is approved, Ayres Associates will create 3D renderings. This will mark the culmination of Boyd Park Plus – Phase One, which encompasses the fundraising, input gathering, and planning for the redesign. We’d like to thank the many people and organizations who donated their time, talent, and funds to make this happen.
Finally, please know that even after a plan is approved, there will be much work to do and many funds to be raised. There will be further public input on specific park details, and we will need to assess our fundraising capabilities, construction timelines, and more.
*The March 5 input session will be held in Spirit Lutheran’s Fellowship Hall (lower level).
