Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association Steering Committee Meeting

Official Minutes – Zoom Conference

February 21, 2021

Members in attendance: CR, BC, CB, LJ, TW, AC

Guests: City Council – Jeremy Gragert

Secretary: January Minutes approved with corrections.

Treasurer Report: (NW)

  • Petty Cash: $58.45 – no change
  • Savings Balance:  $5.00  – no change
  • Checking Balance: $1614.36 (since last meeting)
  • Expenses:
    • 1-11 Check for PO Box $106.00
    • 2-3 990 Filing $40
    • 2-18 Website Renewal $89.5
  • Boyd Park Plus Sign Income:

    • 2-12 Ken Fulgione $ 91.90
    • 2-18 Tangled Up in Hue $100
    • 2-18 Wonders of Nature $100
    • 2-18 Chippewa Valley Tours $100
  • Balance as of February 18: $1876.76
  • Check waiting to be deposited $200 from Pepsi (This matches Chad’s donation of $100 for DECI Fees)
  • Still waiting for check from Ramones for $100 (Boyd Park sign)

Miscellaneous Financial: (CR)

  • 990-N form – Electronic Notice for Tax-Exempt Organizations – filed.
  • Website renewal – legacy price.
  • Block grants discontinued but replaced by $200 annual grant available to all neighborhood associations.

Guest Councilman Jeremy Gragert

  • Currently lives in 3rd ward though previously in EHN
  • Working on Seven Bumps as well as a new trail in the area where the fireworks were held on July 4, 2020.
  • Included is a staircase from Plank Hill to Harding Avenue.
  • Regarding Seven Bumps, the neighborhood gave up parkland to make Flynn Elementary possible and was promised compensation in green space.

Boyd Park Plus: (CB)

  • Meeting with City to update MOU to include fundraising, grants and naming rights. Scheduled for March 2 at 2 p.m.
  • Skate park now fully funded thanks to a large private donation.
  • Existing playground will have to be moved when ground is broken.
  • Ice rink signage – should be done early next week.
  • Banner for Main Street and Warming House – graphics still in the works.
  • Winter scenes by Ayres are half-way done – still unpopulated.
  • Fundraising – Patronicity, a fundraising site may help.
  • AAPR Grant info from Mark Ruddy ($1000)

Regis Parking:

  • No further progress. City slow to respond to emails.

Thrift Sale: (LJ)

  • Will be held Saturday, May 15.
  • Two separate motions: 1) to have the sale 2) setting the date – both passed unanimously after discussion
  • LJ will consult with the Paulus family, who have organized the annual event in the past.
  • Participants will be cautioned to follow applicable state and local regulations. No special regulations are anticipated, it being an outdoor event.
