La Vida Verde (not your average garden club)
by Brad Henderson
A garden club usually discusses hostas and roses. La Vida Verde celebrates “the Green life” by discussing brassicas and tomatoes. Last year, we celebrated the summer harvest with a potluck and social time at Boyd Park on August 31. Our Eastside Hill gardeners produced apple juice, pear pie, beets, zucchini and pepper casserole, and many other tasty dishes. It is amazing how much food a former section of lawn can produce!
La Vida Verde is made up of Eastside Hill homeowners interested in growing and raising their own food, reducing the amount of grass in their neighborhood, and sharing and preserving the food that they achieve. If you want to know more, check out our web space.
